The Pomorskie Region in Poland is characterized by a developed and diversified industrial sector. Key sectors include electronics, machinery, equipment and machine parts, vehicle manufacturing and processing.
In the electronics sector there are plants that produce a variety of electronic devices. The production of machinery, equipment and machine parts is another important sector, including the design and distribution of various types of industrial machinery. Over the years, the export of machinery and equipment has gained in importance. While in 1996 it accounted for only 13.1% of all Polish exports, in 2019 its share in the structure increased to 23.8%. However, according to the data of the Ministry of Development and Technology, in the period from January to April 2022, machinery, equipment and transport equipment accounted for 35.1% of the value of exports.
The vehicle production industry also plays an important role, and the Pomorskie Region has cars, trucks and buses production plants. Processing, such as chemical, timber and shipbuilding industries, is another important industrial sector in the region.
